The Appeal
The Bentley Arnage R represents the pinnacle of early-2000s British luxury motoring, blending traditional craftsmanship with immense performance. Powered by Bentley’s legendary 6.75-litre twin-turbocharged V8, reintroduced after Bentley Motors came under Volkswagen Group ownership, the Arnage R produced around 450bhp and effortless torque, propelling the stately saloon from 0 to 60mph in approximately 5.5 seconds despite its considerable weight. Unlike the more overtly sporting T variant, the R prioritised refinement and comfort, offering a serene, almost limousine-like ride paired with a beautifully appointed interior of hand-stitched leather, polished wood veneers, and deep-pile carpets. With a top speed approaching 170mph and an emphasis on ‘wafting’ acceleration rather than aggression, the Arnage R stands as one of the last truly old-school Bentleys, combining imposing presence, understated performance, and exceptional luxury.

The Condition
