Offered for sale here is a fantastic example of the modern classic Ford Escort.
This particular example is a 1. 8 SI Cabriolet finished in ‘Zinc Yellow’ with all the bells & whistles (including electric folding soft top, 4 electric windows, power steering, electric mirrors etc)
This car is an absolutely outstanding, totally solid survivor with no rust to speak of on the body or underneath.
The car is in phenomenal condition throughout including the soft top which functions exactly as it should and has no tears or previous repairs to it.
The original SI ‘big bolster’ interior is completely present and correct and is free from any rips, tears or burns etc - it is exactly as it should be.
There is also the addition of a sympathetic modern bluetooth stereo (so you don’t need to worry about using your phone whilst driving), however the original Ford stereo unit is included with the car along with a box of original Ford accessories (including a tonneau cover for the folded roof).
The car drives wonderfully throughout all gears and is truly a joy to experience with the roof up or down.
There is a comprehensive service history as well as all original Ford books in place.
Timing belt has just been replaced.
The car has just received a light restoration which included all new suspension throughout (shocks and springs) as well as new lower arms. The wheel arches have also been restored and are ‘showroom fresh’! The bodywork has had a full paint correction all over.
The wheels fitted to the car are original ‘RS’ optional wheels from the 1993 catalogue (with a full matching set of Michelin tyres throughout - all in perfect condition)
