We’re pleased to offer something a bit special – a modern classic that’s full of character without the usual price tag. This is a late 2001 Alfa Romeo 166 3. 0 V6 Sportronic (reg: RF51 SLZ), finished in metallic silver with a charcoal/ grey fabric interior.
This car comes from the final chapter of Alfa’s big saloon story – when they still built soulful, V6-powered flagships with real presence and individuality. Under the bonnet is the legendary 3. 0-litre “Busso” V6 – one of the best-sounding engines of its era. It’s smooth, quick to respond, and delivers a lovely soundtrack, whether you’re cruising or enjoying the manual mode of the Sportronic gearbox.
The 166 has aged well – still sharp-looking, well-proportioned, and refreshingly different from the usual suspects. V6 models are getting harder to find, especially in unmodified, original condition like this.
Inside, it’s all very Alfa: the fabric seats are comfortable and in great shape, complemented by colour-coded leather door trims and factory heated seats. Everything works as it should – windows, seat adjustments, and more. No nasty smells, no tears, and no excessive wear.
Outside, there are a few marks here and there as you’d expect for a car of this age, but overall, it presents nicely. The wheels are spotless and fitted with quality tyres all round.
It’s just had a service and comes with 12 months MOT.
