1 of 447 registered cars in the UK, this fanatstic F1 Team R26 is fitted with a 230bhp, 2. 0 litre turbocharged engine, a 6 Speed Gearbox and a factory limited-slip differential. The specification includes Brembo brakes, 18" alloy wheels, Recaro seats, traction control, a rear anti-roll bar and a full F1 decal kit, which we love!
These cars were built to celebrate Renault's success in Formula One and they are known for their superb handling and exhilarating drive. A large majority of them have been modified and used as track toys, but this F1 Team R26 has been cherished by a fastidious owner since 2010, and remains in standard specification.
It has been serviced by Renault main dealers since new and comes with a fully stamped Service Book in the dealer pack, which also includes all the manuals, leaflets and booklets that came with the car when new. There are two keys.
The 230 had covered 19, 816 miles when the last owner purchased it in April 2010. He has loved and used his car and the mileage is now 120, 015. There is a large history file showing a fastidious attention to maintenance, including regular cambelt replacements at Renault main agents, a new clutch and brake and suspension work. The last belt change was carried out by SMC Aldershot 2, 500 miles ago. Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres are fitted all round.
Outside, the bodywork remains in excellent condition with just the odd blemish to reflect the car's age. It appears that the paintwork is original - there is no evidence of repair or repainting. The original factory decals are superb.
Inside, aside from some very light creasing to the driver's seat, there is virtually no wear or deterioration to the interior. Normal wear points like the gear knob and steering wheel are excellent, and there are no sticky buttons!
Needless to say, the Megane F1 driver superbly, feeling like car with a quarter of its mileage. It's long term ownership and regular care result in a fine example of a rare car.
