The Appeal
Behold one of Paul Bracq’s many masterpieces. His clever transformation of the ungainly Heckflosse saloon in favour of something altogether smoother and more elegant. No wonder these cars remain the doyen of the rich and famous even today.
You’ll pay six figures for a good W111 cabriolet, which makes the more versatile coupe great value for essentially the same car. The 250SE was the rarest hard top variant with just 5,259 produced. This ivory over burgundy 1967 250SE is a really lovely example in great condition thanks to the care of its current long-term keeper. He acquired it after a full restoration in its native home of South Africa - that the work has stood up so well is a credit to him and the craftsmen who executed it.
The vendor informs us that he has expended considerable sums on the car during his tenure. It has been in the UK since 2002 and comes with a thick history file showing regular scheduled maintenance throughout its life. It is a very well kept car with that light patina of age that adds character to any comprehensive restoration.
It is a mark of the current keeper’s approach that the car comes to market with a voluntary MOT to February 2026. Naturally, there are no advisories.
