The Appeal
The Ford Fiesta RS Turbo remains one of the most coveted fast Fords of the 1990s — a genuine pocket rocket that punched well above its weight and has since become a staple of the scene, if not one of its most definitive cars. Survival rates have not been kind to these cars, with over-ambitious driving claiming many examples over the years, which makes this recently completed build all the more noteworthy.
The story here is a familiar one for Ford enthusiasts: the seller's RS Turbo had sound running gear but a shell that had succumbed to rot, so in 2015 a solid replacement shell was sourced and the RS Turbo mechanicals were transplanted across. After a pause of several years in storage, the project was taken to a workshop in 2024 and brought to completion in February 2026, passing its MOT with no advisories. The 1.6 CVH turbo engine was rebuilt in 2018 and features a specification that includes Kent Cams, a polished and ported head, and a custom-built hybrid T3 Garrett turbo.
This is very much an honest RS Turbo tribute with character — a car for the Ford enthusiast who appreciates the mechanicals and is happy to continue the journey. The seller reports that it boosted happily on its drive to the MOT station.ACT_0024-8 Phil Wolstenholme.jpg1.91 MB
