The original Quattro was one of the most revolutionary cars in motoring history. It brought four-wheel drive from the fields to rallying and, later, to the roads. As a sports car or rally car, the 'UR' is simply fantastic.
Unless you can teleport yourself to 1981, this first series 10V from 1981 is probably as close to a brand new Quattro as you can get today. It is believed to be one of the first 1,000 examples produced and is offered for sale having just received a complete restoration. It was completely disassembled and then rebuilt using reconditioned or new parts where necessary. The engine has been rebuilt and it has been completely repainted. The interior has also been finished in high-quality Nappa leather, including the headlining.
The car has never been used since the restoration was completed, which is why the seller advises the buyer to check it before using it on the road. Another positive aspect is that this car has been de-registered in Italy, which will make re-registration in other European countries much easier. Often in restorations the mechanics take a back seat and are neglected. Not in this case. This Audi has been thoroughly overhauled, and the work has involved practically every aspect of the car, from the engine to the brakes and suspension. The list of new components is very long, as reported above.
