The Appeal
The XK150 was the final and most refined evolution of Jaguar's celebrated XK sports car line, which had captivated the motoring world since the XK120's sensational debut in 1948. The Fixed Head Coupé offered a more civilised grand touring experience than its predecessors, with a higher scuttle, wider grille, and improved interior space, while retaining the muscular 3.8-litre DOHC straight-six that offered Jaguar's then-synonymous reputation for performance.
'OSU 167' is a right-hand drive example that was originally exported to South Africa in 1958, where it spent the majority of its life enjoying a kinder climate. Repatriated to the UK in 1989, the bodywork was restored to its current Gun Metal Grey metallic finish, with the body reportedly requiring only minimal repair. It also benefits from a Tremec five-speed manual gearbox alongside a whole host of other sympathetic upgrades, detailed below.
Since returning to British shores, the car has been fitted with a considered selection of mechanical and cosmetic upgrades aimed at making it a more usable and enjoyable driver. image.png1.67 MB
