The Appeal
The Ford Prefect 107e bridged the gap between Ford's long-running sidevalve era and the overhead-valve Anglia that would follow. With its upright, almost quintessentially mid-century styling, the 107e is an increasingly rare sight on British roads and a remarkably eye-catching classic.
This particular example has been reimagined as a restomod, retaining its charming silhouette while benefiting from a Ford Puma-sourced 1,679cc inline four-cylinder engine paired with a six-speed manual gearbox. Bought as a stalled project and brought to completion, the bodywork has been extensively renewed and the shell repainted, while underneath the car has been painted and Waxoiled for long-term protection. The cabin has been retrimmed, the electrical system fully replaced, and new cooling and braking systems complete the mechanical transformation.
Put simply, this is far beyond an ordinary Prefect. We'd never expect these three-box machines to be performance cars, but this one is more than capable of thrilling on the national network.image.png1.51 MB
