The Appeal
The MGA 1600 Mark II represented the final and most refined evolution of MG's beloved sports car before the MGB took the reins. With its engine bored out to 1,622cc, front disc brakes, and subtle cosmetic revisions, the Mark II offered a meaningful step forward in both performance and usability, and as one of just 8,719 examples produced, it has become an increasingly sought-after variant among MGA devotees.
This 1962 Roadster has benefited from an extensive chassis-up restoration and has covered a mere 1,795 miles since that work was completed. Acquired in 2012 from a specialist dealer in Roeschwoog, it has since formed part of a small collection of British cars and has been used sparingly as a result. The vendor rates the bodywork, paintwork, interior, and mechanicals very highly, describing the red paintwork as free from scratches or dents and the beige leather interior as well-matched throughout. The rebuilt engine is reported to run with correct oil pressure, and the car is said to start readily, with a smooth gearbox and light steering.
Presented on a French Carte Grise de Collection with a Contrôle Technique valid to June 2028, this MGA comes accompanied by its side-screens, tonneau cover, and an MGA leather suitcase. For those seeking a late-production MGA Roadster in thoroughly restored condition, this example warrants close attention.
