Highlights
- Highly regarded lightweight trials bike
- Desirable 1963 model with all welded lightweight frame
- Very original and well presented bike with light patina
The Appeal
It may have had its origins in BSA’s humble C156 commuter bike, but when the much-improved C15T arrived in 1963, it utterly transformed the ‘feet up’ off-road community. A small engine and strong, all-welded lightweight frame made the larger, heavier 350cc and 500cc single-cylinder bikes redundant almost overnight. It was a point proven by Arthur Lampkin, who secured victory in the gruelling Scottish Six Days Trial in the same year that this characterful C15T found its first keeper.
The vendor describes this 1963 bike as a nicely preserved, seemingly very original example. It presents well and forms a good basis for preservation or improvement. Buyers should note that it is sold without registration plates or documents. It suits a buyer with the experience and resources to complete the necessary paperwork and any recommissioning work required to return it to active use.
