The Appeal
Featuring an elegant Superleggera body crafted by Carrozzeria Touring of Milan and powered by Maserati's legendary dual-overhead-cam inline six-cylinder, the 3500 GT accompanied the marque's transition from a competition-focused manufacturer to a builder of refined, high-performance road cars.
This 1964 example boasts a particularly interesting provenance: it reportedly served as a show car at the 1963 Paris Motor Show at the Thepenier dealership before being sold to its first private owner in France in 1964. The car subsequently crossed the Atlantic to the United States, where it reportedly received an American V8 engine and automatic transmission.
Upon its return to Europe in 1992, Dutch specialists replaced this non-original powertrain with an original-type inline six-cylinder and a five-speed manual gearbox. A complete restoration was then carried out in 2007, followed by a return to the road in 2009.
Now registered in France, this 3500 GT presents in good overall condition. Its history, particularly its documented appearance at the Paris Motor Show, stands as one of the highlights of its file. image.png4.99 MB
