The Appeal

Steve McQueen loved his so much that he insisted on using a TR6C in The Great Escape. It’s easy to understand why - Triumph’s ‘desert sled’ was tough, reliable, light and quick, and it utterly dominated the American off-road scene during the 50s and 60s. The ‘69 model-year bikes like this one became even more reliable and better-looking thanks to Hepolite pistons and nitrided camshafts and, of course, glorious signature Trophy Red ‘Olympic Flame’ paintwork.
A useful Triumph Owners’s Club letter verifies this bike’s build date and original USA destination. It returned in 2021 when it was comprehensively restored. It has covered just 380 miles since. It has a battery-less ignition system, plus a horn and kill switch. The bike is currently registered in Guernsey but the buyer can re-register it on an age-related UK plate. Presented in highly restored, collector-quality condition, this is one of the best TR6Cs we’ve seen in a long while.
The vendor says:
“Runs and rides perfectly. Rides looks and sounds beautiful.”
