The Appeal
Few vehicles are as instantly recognisable as the Volkswagen Type 2, whose split-screen front end, simple mechanical layout and wonderfully versatile body made it one of the defining vehicles of the post-war era. Originally conceived as a commercial vehicle, it soon found favour far beyond its intended purpose, becoming closely associated with travel, leisure and a more relaxed approach to life on the road.
Manufactured in Brazil in 1972, this left-hand-drive example is recorded with two former UK keepers and is accompanied by numerous receipts detailing previous maintenance. Finished in cream with a matching interior, it presents in classic camper van form, with a neatly trimmed rear lounge area which appears to convert into a bed, giving it the kind of practical layout that has long made these Volkswagens so well suited to weekends away, shows, festivals and relaxed summer touring. For sale with us at no reserve as the vendor has no longer has use for the little van - So get your bids in early, you will kick yourselves if you don’t.!
