The Appeal
The Series 2a Truck Cab is one of the most versatile and characterful formats in the Land Rover lineage, offering a lockable cabin with the practicality of an open rear bed. This 1963 example has been reimagined by Series Land Rover specialists John Brown 4×4 as their one-off "NARDO" Edition 001, a staff-chosen build fitted with a range of considered upgrades that enhance both the driving experience and visual presence.
Freshly finished in Nardo Grey inside and out, the exterior features steel modular wheels with BF Goodrich tyres, a full LED lighting conversion with DRL "Halo" headlights, and both a SwingAway rear spare carrier and a bonnet-mounted "Endurance" space-saver spare. Mechanically, the 2,286cc petrol engine breathes through a Weber carburettor, while parabolic springs and Pro Comp shock absorbers are said to transform the ride quality. Inside, the compact Truck Cab cabin has been fitted with retrimmed high-back seats, modern inertia belts, a central cubby box, and a deluxe carpeting set with door cards, creating a cabin that the vendor describes as warm, quiet, and secure.
Previously in the same ownership for over 18 years, this Series IIA recorded 91,714 miles at its last MOT in July 2024, which it passed on the first attempt with no advisories. As a 1963 vehicle, it is both MOT and road tax exempt. The vendor notes that the Truck Cab format can be converted to soft top or hard top configuration if preferred.
