The Appeal
For some it’s all about Paul Bracq’s balanced sharknose styling, for others it’s the slinky ‘Big Six’ 3.4L M30 straight six engine. Or perhaps it’s the combination of both with the comfort and luxury of one of the greatest grand tourers ever built. Because the E24 definitely is, a car that is a virtual benchmark for any 2+2 built in the last 50 years.
Good examples are both usable and collectable. The one you ideally want is this car, the 635CSI with that 3.4L engine and a luxury full leather interior. An added feature of this car, alongside the attractive blue and cream colour scheme, is the set of expensive BBS RC lattice alloys. It is also equipped with the 4spd auto gearbox that suits the long-legged GT style of these cars. It has been in the hands of the current keeper for 20 years, during which time we’re told that it has been garaged and regularly maintained. Recent work includes electrical checks - we’re told that everything works - and brake overhaul including callipers, master cylinder and ABS repairs.
This is a very tidy, evidently much-cherished example of the highly related E24. For added reassurance it comes with Polish technical inspection valid to June 2027.
The vendor says:
“The car is as well-equipped as could be for this model, with the full M-Technic package, a flat rear spoiler (which is crucial), Recaro seats, air conditioning, a sunroof, headlight wipers, and white turn signals. On these wider wheels, the car handles perfectly like a modern car and accelerates very well. This car meets the expectations of even the most discerning driver.”

“The car's interior is in excellent condition; it's been restored and has no damage. The driver's seat is slightly worn, but that's hardly noticeable considering the mileage. The car has no modifications. It has an audio system with a subwoofer and BBS RC wheels, 8 inches in front and 9 inches in the rear. This is a very rare configuration and a very expensive addition, worth €4,000.
“The car is in perfect mechanical condition, free of any faults. It's been maintained like new. All electrical components work, the on-board computer works perfectly, and the engine runs beautifully. The owner is meticulous about maintaining this car and has been investing in it for 20 years to ensure it's always in good working order.”
