The Appeal
The Porsche 928 has undergone a much-deserved renaissance in recent years. The front-engined, V8-powered grand tourer was always a remarkable piece of engineering, and the growing appreciation for its blend of performance, comfort and distinctive angular styling has made good examples increasingly sought after, particularly those fitted with the desirable five-speed ‘dogleg’ manual transaxle.
This 1984 example pairs its 4.7-litre V8 with the coveted manual transaxle, and it comes to market presenting well for its age. It has a current advisory-free MOT valid until 22 April 2026, and recent work has included an air conditioning compressor repair, as well as brake pressure regulator, oil pressure sender, cambelt and water pump changes. A Shark tuning chip has also been fitted for enhanced performance. For those drawn to the 928's unique character, this appealing manual example represents a compelling proposition.

✓ We want a smooth transaction just as much as you do and as such we run all UK-registered cars and motorbikes for sale on Car & Classic through an online HPI check to verify that they show no insurance database markers for damage or theft, and have no finance owing, allowing you to bid with confidence.
✓ We also check whether vehicles are recorded as being written off as part of an insurance total loss claim at the time an advert is placed on Car & Classic and we helpfully provide write-off category labels (Cat C/D/S/N) for your assistance. However, the presence or absence of a label does not guarantee the vehicle’s status and it is always worthwhile carrying out your own full vehicle history check before making an offer on a vehicle.

Hi - do you have any detail on or pictures of the CAT C repair please - for example what was damaged, the extent of it and why it was categorised a C. Thank you.

SellerHi there, all that I know is that it was the offside front wing, obviously there are no outstanding issues (see extensive history since the write off in 2013). You are of course welcome to inspect or arrange inspection.

SellerHello, yes that's right. I love the car, I am just not using as much as thought I would in light of a recent move to a different location. The car needs to be driven and I'm not doing it justice.
