The Appeal
Sporty, open-top fun in a Volkswagen Golf? Sign us up! This was a latecomer to the Volkswagen Golf's lineage, but it's one of the most influential. It managed to outlive the Hatchback with some verve, and continued to capture the public's admiration for years.
The idea of getting the wind in your hair while driving the archetypal hot-hatch was hard to resist, and they soldiered on impressively all the way up until 1993, long after the MK1 on which they were based.
Having been used only during summer weekends and garage-stored with a cloth cover when not in use, this Golf GTI Convertible is particularly handsome. The metallic blue livery and beige soft top suit the car down to the ground, and it looks highly original from inside and out.
