The Appeal
It says something about the sheer unburstable nature of Mercedes’ handsome C126 coupe that this 36-year-old car has proved so reliable since the vendor acquired it in 2018. He says that aside from routine servicing it has needed nothing. That includes a recent fault-free trip to France and back.
The vendor acquired it from a SEC specialist, and we can see why it would have stood out amongst similar cars. Finished in smart Nautical Blue with beige leather and walnut trim, it is a nicely specified car in very good condition - it even retains its factory radio. We’re told that the extensive electrical luxuries all still work, including the rear electric windows. Since buying the car, the vendor has kept on top of the bodywork and structure with work around the fuel tank. The current MOT carries no structural or other advisories.
The history book supports the low displayed mileage, which is barely run in for the 320bhp M119 engine. The work includes attention by various main dealers and marque specialists. In recent years, we are told a local mechanic has carried out minor services.
There are a few minor points to note below, but nothing that might not be reasonably expected of a well-kept, clearly cherished car of this age. It is being sold only because the seller is moving overseas.
The vendor says:
“It has provided joy for my family and I over the past 8 years. I'm only selling as overseas for an extended period and can't bring it with me.
“Every time I drive it it puts a smile on my face, and unfailingly someone will pull up and give a nice comment - you just don't get that in every car. People give way to you on the road too, to boot. There are years of domestic or continental driving for someone to enjoy with this car.”
