The Appeal
This is the kind of 205 GTi you rarely see offered - a car with proper history, a real story, and long-term, enthusiast ownership. Bought by the seller in 1994 and cherished for over 30 years, it’s been a daily driver, a weekend toy, and even a magazine feature car, having taken part in Auto Express’s iconic 2000 Hot Hatch comparison test — a copy of which accompanies the car.
While not a concours example, that’s exactly what makes it so appealing. It’s a well-used, well-maintained GTi with character, a comprehensive file of paperwork stretching back to 1991, and just enough patina to make it a very honest offering. Sensible upgrades like 306 GTi-6 brakes, a Magnex stainless exhaust and uprated tyres enhance the driving experience while still retaining that essential 205 GTi feel. This is a car for the enthusiast who values originality and the sort of car you can drive and enjoy every day.
