The Appeal

The P38 occupies an appealing place in the Range Rover lineage, between the classic simplicity of the original and the complexity of the L322 onwards. Good examples make very capable and comfortable all-road adventurers.

Many P38s have succumbed to hard lives or corrosion, but not this very smart Epsom Green HSE. It is a factory-standard 1997 model with the rumbly 4.6L V8 engine. The condition is impressive for a 4x4 approaching its 30th year, and we are told it comes to market freshly serviced. The MOT runs to March 2027. Recent work includes new brake pipes, a CV boot, and a replacement battery. It has been converted to a more reliable coil spring rear suspension set-up.
