Comprehensive history file with Renault certificate of conformity from Dieppe
Cam belt, water pump, dephaser pulley and auxiliary belt renewed in June 2026
Accompanied by two sets of freshly refurbished alloy wheels
The Appeal
The Clio II was a brilliant car in all its forms, but the 182 elevated the model to new heights, with a naturally aspirated 2.0-litre 16-valve inline-four engine producing 180–182 bhp and 148 lb-ft of torque. Built at Renault Sport's dedicated Dieppe facility, the 182 has earned modern classic status with a devoted following, and finding well-preserved examples is becoming increasingly difficult.
This 2004 example has covered just 31,309 miles and has effectively been a single-keeper car from new. The first owner kept it garage-stored throughout their lengthy period of ownership, and the seller has continued this practice. A Renault certificate of conformity confirms its Dieppe origins, and the car is accompanied by a detailed history file with documented oil changes, cam belt replacements and brake work spanning its life. In June 2026, the cam belt, water pump, dephaser pulley and auxiliary belt were all renewed, along with a new offside rear calliper and alternator.
The vendor describes the bodywork as being in very good order with only the most minor marks visible on close inspection, while the interior is said to be in equally good condition. Two sets of freshly refurbished alloy wheels accompany the car: the original-specification OEM 182 items, not yet driven on, and a set of Turinis fitted with brand new Kumho tyres.
The vendor says:
"Here for sale is my Renault Clio 182 in the stunning titanium silver (647) with just 31, 309 miles and zero owners still showing on the logbook. Being an absolute Renault fan boy (I’m on my 9th Renaultsport), I was lucky enough to come across this absolute gem of a 182, as the elderly owner had posted on the 182 forum that he was “thinking” of selling. I went over to look at it and couldn’t leave without taking it. He was a cool old dude who more than knew his facts on the car (probably more than me) and general mechanical knowledge. Knowing what I wanted to do with the car, as I already had two RS Clios on my drive, I put it in trade to keep the owners off the logbook and keep it at zero owners.
"For those that don’t know, this is a 2-litre 16v 3-door car built as a follow-on from the already amazing Clio 172. The car is a real old-school hatchback and doesn’t have any of the fancy gadgets most modern cars have today. The most fancy gadgets it has are cruise control and a traction control button, which is why I love my old-school Renault cars. The car comes with electric windows, climate control, gorgeous xenon lights and Alcantara / leather seats. It is a perfect daily car for just pottering to and from the shops if needed, but if you want some fun on the way home it comes alive if you rev it out. It’s made for twists and turns rather than a straight-line rocket. The owner has kept every single bit of history (including all the old tax discs) with the car. To start, I have the Renault certificate of conformity for when it was brought into the UK from Dieppe, where all Renault sports were built, dated 20/ 05/ 2004."IMG_6710 Elliott Moon.jpeg4.78 MB
