The Appeal
Practically everything about the 997 was developed for driver satisfaction. More precise, more agile, better styling - if the purists had been upset about its predecessor, this was the perfect peace offering, and we'd wager the cabriolet is amongst the best open-top drivers that Stuttgart ever produced. It's a perfectly balanced, beautifully stated car.
This 2006 example appears in smart condition for its age and has been well maintained with significant work completed in the last year. Acquired by the current owner in February 2024, this has clearly been a much-loved vehicle, and it really does reflect from bumper to bumper. The low mileage, advisory-free MOT and impressive paperwork file all make for a fabulous prospect.

"I don’t use the car that much (as is evidenced from the mileage increase), which is the reason for selling now. Overall it is a really great car (probably best car I have owned!). Loads of power, smooth, sure-footed as 4 wheel drive. Precise and nicely weighted steering (I hear the 997 is the one to go for for steering feel!). It also feels mechanical compared to newer cars which I really like. Also very comfortable on longer journeys (heated seats are lovely!) - have taken to Le Mans and Silverstone Festival this year (which will account for vast majority of the miles)."
