The Appeal
The 987 didn’t mess with a winning formula, but the arrival of the 3.4L Boxster S certainly made it considerably. Power jumped to close on 300bhp, giving drivers a chance to exploit the excellent dynamics fully.
The key when buying any Boxster S is specification. That’s where this ‘triple black’ 2007 car wins. It was factory fitted with key options like ceramic brakes - a £10,000 extra - and the clever Sport Chrono package that adds extra driver functionality. Then there’s the 6-speed manual box.
The car has been well-maintained throughout its life. The service book shows regular stamps by main dealers and well-regarded specialists. The last service was at 62,800 miles, and it has covered a few miles since. Other work includes a front suspension refresh with Bilstein 4 shocks and new transmission mounts, both within 2,000 miles, we are told. The gearshift cables were renewed two years ago. The MOT runs to February 2026.
With its desirable understated colour scheme and elevated specification, this second-generation Boxster stands out.
