The Appeal
The Alfa Romeo Spider JTS Limited Edition was the latest iteration of Alfa's iconic convertible lineage. Based around the highly regarded and achingly pretty 159/Brera platform, the last of the Spiders (for now at least) offered a fantastic package that Alfa could have their work cut out to surpass, even today.
This 2.2 model offers a well-judged balance of performance and comfort, with the Limited Edition specification adding exclusivity to an already desirable package. This particular example has been with its current owner since 2015, who previously owned an identical model, showing their appreciation for this specific vehicle.
Having been used as a main car rather than just a weekend toy, it has proven its practicality while still being stored under cover when not in use. With a full respray three years ago and numerous thoughtful additions, this Spider presents an opportunity to own a rare and well-maintained example of this beautiful Italian convertible.
The vendor says:
"I bought the vehicle in 2015 to replace an identical car I had owned from new, which was written off in an accident. The bodywork was resprayed three years ago and all chrome parts and badges were replaced. In that time it has been stored under cover (on the drive) when not in use. This was my main car, not a Sunday car.
"I had this car and its twin sister for 17 years. In my opinion, it has a timeless beauty. It looks even more amazing when the roof is dropped, not only because of the enhancement to the shape but because the interior is visible and the stunning seats can be fully appreciated. I drove it to Italy a couple of times and was approached on many occasions as they had never seen this version of the car, with only 2,000 made and all for export only. You can read up about this car, but the main thing I took from this was that every Spring, it felt like I had a new car once the roof was dropped. With the windows up and the heated seats and in-car heating on, you can enjoy the experience from April to October . . . and still hear the music!"
