The Appeal
For fans of Latinate grand tourers, Maserati’s GranTurismo is one of those ‘cake and eat it’ sort of cars. Buyers get the style, luxury and grandeur of a Maserati, with a drivetrain infused by the spirit of arguably the greatest powerplant proponents in the world - Ferrari.
This 2009 car is fitted with the larger and more powerful 4.7L 434bhp ‘S’ version of that F136 V8. The engine delivers via Maserati’s own MC-Shift single-clutch gearbox, which is essentially the same as Ferrari’s own ‘SuperFast’ F1 box found in the 599GTB Fiorano. Not that its subtle dark grey paintwork and black 20in ‘Trident’ alloys shout any of that potency. The understated theme continues inside with a well-specified black leather cabin.
The car presents well externally and the leather cabin is in good condition for a GranTurismo of this age. The car suffers the model’s usual switchgear wear and the headlining is sagging, the latter being an easy fix if the buyer wishes.
The vendor acquired the car in 2018 and has continued to maintain it as previous keepers did, with regular attention from well-regarded specialists like Autobahn. The car received a new clutch at a cost of £3,152 just before purchase at around 50,000 miles. Autobahn last serviced it in July 2026 at 58,376 miles. New Eibach springs were fitted in 2022. The current MOT runs to January 2027 with no advisories.
