The Appeal
A well-specified late-model Defender can deftly straddle that thin line between style icon and capable workhorse. Careful specification delivers a 4x4 that is comfortable on long trips, but still capable of lugging the occasional livestock or plant as the need arises.
This very well kept Corris Grey 2014 Defender is a case in point. It left the factory highly specified with the XS trim level, two-tone premium leather, and an array of options, and has since been further improved with an array of extras, including Optimill billet items worth £1,200. The original spec and the extras were the work of the original keeper, who retained it until 2025.
The current keeper acquired it at that point and has continued to improve it, whilst keeping on top of the maintenance. He tells us that Nene Overland spent over £2,200 on mechanical work in 2025, as detailed below. In May 2026, it was serviced, and fluids were changed. The paintwork was treated to a professional detail and a Gtechniq ceramic coating in the same month.
Considering the age and mileage, there are a few inevitable minor cosmetic points to note, but nothing that detracts from the overall sense of a well-kept Defender. This is reinforced by the current MOT, which runs to January 2027 with no advisories.
