The Appeal

Finished in Lotus's iconic black-and-gold John Player Special-inspired livery, this rare EU-market Evora Sport 410 captures the spirit of Lotus's celebrated 1978 Formula 1 World Championship-winning era. Beneath its distinctive livery lies a supercharged 3.5-liter V6, six-speed manual gearbox, hydraulic steering and an extensive weight-saving program that brought the car down to around 1,320 kg while delivering 410 horsepower through the rear wheels. The result is an exceptionally focused, lightweight mid-engine Lotus that combines the visual drama of the JPS era with the raw, communicative character of the Sport 410, made all the more desirable by its extreme rarity.

Lotus has won multiple world titles (6 Drivers' and 7 Constructors' championships); hence the laurel wreath on both sides of my car.

The last world champion was Mario Andretti in 1978. To celebrate this 40th anniversary in 2018, Lotus released these 5 Evoras in the famous JPS livery.

This particular example has been in single ownership from new, purchased from a Lotus dealer who has also carried out all maintenance throughout its life. It has been stored indoors in a heated environment and driven regularly, including trips to the British Superbike Championship.

The vendor describes the overall condition as very good, with an interior said to still present as new. Cosmetic blemishes are reportedly limited to a very small area of damage on one rim edge and a few stone chips on the nose. Powered by a 3.5-liter supercharged V6 producing 410 horsepower, the Lotus Evora Sport 410 features a six-speed manual gearbox with a mechanical Torsen limited-slip differential and a mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout. Its performance-focused chassis includes Bilstein dampers and Eibach springs, lowering the car by 5mm compared with the standard Evora, while AP Racing four-piston calipers and cross-drilled ventilated discs provide braking performance. A factory titanium exhaust with an electronic valve enhances the character of the engine, and lightweight forged alloy wheels, 19 inches at the front and 20 inches at the rear, help reduce unsprung weight.
