Description

Without doubt, this is the very best Triumph 2000 we have ever seen. Last sold by us eleven years ago in 2015, the car has covered a warranted 48000 miles and is a low ownership car that has been maintained with no expense spared. This Wedgewood Blue Triumph 2000 was first registered on the 25th April 1966 in Stratford, London to a Professor who owned the car for 29 years. In March 1973 the owner moved from London to North Yorkshire and during long term ownership only covered 34, 000 miles. Between 1993 and 1996 the Triumph was unused and garaged, then between 1996 and coming to us in 2015, the car was owned by an enthusiast who regularly used the car for shows and rallies covering around 4000 miles. Since 2015, our customer has covered 10, 000 miles in the Triumph and it has been driven over to us faultlessly from West Yorkshire.

DFE 181D is a true collector's piece and is in unbelievable condition with an outstanding, original interior. The upholstery still retains polythene door covers that will have been fitted at the factory, carpets and the headlining are like new and the seats, dashboard and woodwork are outstanding. The woodwork has had some French polishing to retain a factory finish and externally the Triumph has had some re-chroming, and two years ago a £10, 000 bare metal re-paint to ensure a top class show standard level finish. The Triumph is a true time warp and the wonderful original upholstery is somewhat unrepeatable on what is a very rare early model of the popular Triumph 2000.

This MKI Triumph 2000 has been owned by real enthusiasts who have maintained this car to the highest of standards. The recent owner of eleven years has had the Triumph maintained by a local Jaguar specialist and any recommended work has always been carried out with no expense spared. We can confirm the car is in top class mechanical order, the car is excellent to drive with a fabulous, strong, quiet and low mileage engine with super smooth gearbox and working overdrive. The Triumph handles faultlessly and drives as you would expect when almost new.

The condition of the car throughout is of the highest standards and the bodywork and paintwork are first class. The Wedgewood Blue paintwork has a stunning glass finish and the panels are perfectly straight with excellent gaps. The chrome work is lovely, the engine bay is beautifully presented and original. As mentioned, the interior is first class and unrepeatable. DFE 181D is a wonderful find, the MKI Triumph is a very rare car and examples in this condition are scarcely available. To find a low mileage car like this is incredibly difficult and it must be carefully owned in order to maintain the outstanding condition. This is a true collector's piece for the discerning buyer.
