The Appeal
If you missed out on the RS Ultime when it hit showrooms, and with just 1,976 built, that seems likely, then here’s a chance to rectify that. And we suspect you may want to because this car is the last ever RS model that Renault Sport will create.
This car is as good as ‘brand new’ because it has only covered 865 kms from new. The vendor is the only keeper and tells us that this car was the last RS Ultime registered in Spain and the only one registered in 2024. It is car number 1402.
Finished in classic Sirius Yellow with Ultime decals, black 19in Fuji alloys and back Alcantara red-stitched Recaros, this car is as good as you’d expect from a barely-used car. The vendor describes it as suitable for display in a museum or showroom, and it’s hard to disagree. It even retains most of the factory-fitted protective plastic trim covers.
Beyond the provenance, there are strong reasons to want a RS Ultime. It uses the same 1.8L 300bhp turbocharged 4cyl engine as the Alpine A110, mated to Renault’s clever EDC semi-automatic gearbox. Then there’s the lowered Cup chassis, the hydraulic bump stops, four wheel steering, Torsen mechanical differential and Brembo brakes. The specification is compelling, but it is the way the RS Ultime drives that makes it one of the greatest hot hatches ever built.
Despite the paltry mileage the car has been correctly serviced. The first service was in January 2025 at 65kms and it will be serviced again in January this year prior to sale. We are told it has Renault factory warranty to 2029 and Spanish technical inspection valid to 2028.
The vendor says:
“Its current condition is such that it could be displayed in a dealership or museum. It still has the protective plastic covers on the interior upholstery, climate control controls, accelerator and brake pedals, seats, and steering wheel. The engine has not been run, and during the mileage it has covered it has never exceeded 3,000 rpm at any time. The mileage it has covered was for its own good, to move the fluids and prevent damage to the battery or anything else. It was also taken out of the garage on a good day and has never been exposed to rain. It is a genuine collector's item and has been treated as such since its purchase.
“This is a collector's item, the last RS in the history of Renault Sport. With license plate number 1402/1976 worldwide. It will never lose its value if well maintained.”
