The Appeal
Developed by Kremer Racing, among the most accomplished Porsche privateer teams in motorsport history, the 962 CK6 was engineered to compete at the very highest level of international sports car racing, and this very chassis did exactly that.
Chassis CK6-88 debuted with a victory at the Hungaroring in April 1988 before going on to contest the 24 Hours of Le Mans that same year, finishing a highly creditable 9th overall in the iconic Kenwood livery. Its driver roster reads like a who's who of motorsport: Bruno Giacomelli, Kunimitsu Takahashi, and Hideki Okada shared duties at Le Mans, while Mario Andretti (1978 Formula One World Champion) and his son Michael Andretti also raced this very car. The chassis amassed four overall victories in the FIA European Interserie and contested rounds of both the IMSA World Challenge and the FIA World Sportscar Championship.
Its post-competition career has been no less notable. Derek Bell, five-time Le Mans overall winner, drove this car at Le Mans Classic in 2012 and the Goodwood Members' Meeting in 2015, his first outing in a 962 in over two decades. The car has also appeared at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
What truly sets this example apart, however, is its road registration. Following acquisition by the last owner in late 2021, the car was entrusted to BBM Sport in Daventry for a sympathetic and professionally executed road conversion. The result was a UK road-registered Group C prototype that has been driven on public roads from England to Germany, visiting both Kremer Racing and the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart along the way. Interested parties should note the car has arrived back in the UK from a bonded warehouse in Europe. The UK V5C is live, with the car MoT'd until 2027 in the previous owners name. Import VAT by a UK buyer at 5% maybe payable. Import and customs duties maybe payable by the buyer in other jurisdictions. Please seek clarifications for your own jurisdictions. Import and customs duty are not included in the bid price.
With approximately 790 bhp from its twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre flat-six, an aluminium honeycomb monocoque, and carbon and Kevlar composite bodywork, this is an uncompromising machine. It comes with a comprehensive history file and a valuable spares package. This package is extensive and will need to be collected by the buyer from the seller at the buyer's expense. For collectors and enthusiasts seeking a genuine Le Mans car with a notable driver pedigree, proven historic event credentials, and the ability to be driven on the road, this Kremer 962 CK6 presents a very rare opportunity.15 Bild .jpg1.54 MB

Resplendent in period race livery
Instantly transporting you back to the heady days of the hotly contested Group C era, this car looks as if it's just about to take up position on the grid at Le Mans. The various inclusions made for road registration of the car have been carried out in the most subtle manner; barring the fitting of number plates, you wouldn't know from the outside that it had been in any way altered. The interior, too, remains unashamedly purposeful, with period Dymo labels denoting the functions of the myriad switches and gauges.
As the photographs attest, the car presents beautifully throughout, a testament to its owners and the reverence it has commanded from all those who have worked on it. You will note some illustrious names of the drivers who have piloted the car emblazoned around the cockpit, as well as various signatures. 94 Bild .jpg5.27 MB
