The Appeal
As certain well-known reviewers keep telling us, there are many flavours of 997, but for real-world enjoyment and pleasure, nothing beats the standard Carrera. Particularly when it’s fitted with the engaging 6spd manual box and is a later 997.2 with none of the IMS bearing worries of earlier cars.
As if by magic, that is exactly what we have here. Finished in popular grey metallic with a well-kept black leather interior, it is a low-mileage car that has had few keepers. The condition is impressive, and the car features some choice options, including the Porsche infotainment updated for the 997.2 and a set of Carrera Sport alloys with polished rims.
The history file supports the low mileage and shows a run of regular attention by main dealers and specialists. The last service was at 63,847 miles in November 2024 by Porsche Mid-Sussex. The current MOT runs to November 2026 with no advisories.
This is a very tidy, well-specified and properly maintained example of the much-improved 997.2.
The vendor says:
“It’s a classic. Everyone should drive a 911 in their lifetime. It’s gorgeous to drive. Engaging, smooth and very, very fast. It is also very practical and has a huge amount of luggage space for a car of its type. Rear seats suitable for small children; otherwise the backs of the seats fold down to provide a large rear parcel shelf. Basic maintenance is easy, including monitoring and topping up the oil level.”
