Description
Quite possibly the best in the UK? A bold claim but this multi-Concours award winning example is totally breath-taking and comes with exemplary service history. With just one fastidious owner since 2012, the car has been extensively shown across the country at Bentley Drivers Club and Rolls Royce Enthusiast Club events picking up no less than 14 class wins and numerous other commendations. Presented in Silverlake Blue metallic with Blue hood and quilted Magnolia leather interior and Birds-Eye Maple dash and door panels, the car boasts fully documented Bentley main dealer service history to 2021 and Rolls Royce specialist since. This is, without doubt, a unique opportunity to acquire a very special car with extraordinary provenance.
Launched in 2003, the Bentley GT was a 4-seater coupe of grand touring car style and the first Bentley to be effectively mass-produced albeit much on the car was still hand-assembled. Fitted with a 6. 0 litre twin turbocharged W12 engine producing 552BHP, the car could accelerate to 60 in just 4. 8 seconds despite weighing in at almost 2. 5 tonnes and had a top speed of just under 200MPH. A Mulliner Driving Specification was introduced in 2004 with 20-inch 7-spoke alloy wheels, two-tone leather and veneer combinations and quilted hide seat facings with an embroidered Bentley marque emblem. In late 2006, the convertible Continental GTC was launched mirroring the mechanical specification of the GT. A marginally heavier car with obvious drag restraints, the GTC was still capable of a 5. 1 second sprint time and top speed of 195MPH. Very impressive for a convertible. Updates came in early 2008 with some weight saved owing to more aluminium being used on suspension components, a revised cooling system, better power steering and improved carbon ceramic brakes as well as considerable cabin detailing. The Second Generation cars were unveiled in 2011 and a Third Generation in 2018. Today, the Fourth Generation, launched in 2024, carries on the tradition and standing set by the early cars albeit with some 771BHP now on offer.
Our car was supplied new in April 2008 through Broughtons of Cheltenham trading as Bentley Pangbourne. The total price paid was £146, 465. The Bentley returned to the same supplying dealer every year to 2021 with annual stamps to 2018 (with associated paperwork) and annual paperwork thereafter. For the first 4 years of it`s life, the car evidently had just 2 discerning owners returning to Bentley Pangbourne in 2012 to be ultimately resold to it`s third and current keeper. A long-term Bentley enthusiast, our customer purchased the car for £75, 579 in July 2012 with 19, 539 miles recorded. As a seasoned Club member of both the BDC and RREH, our new owner started to take the car to Club events and soon realised not only was the Bentley show-worthy but a show-winner. Embracing this life, more and more Concours d`Elegance events were entered and each year a string of rosettes followed with our keeper now stepping up the pace wearing colour-coordinated clothing and often setting up a full picnic scene alongside again colour-matched to the car. The pinnacle came with the acquisition of a miniature battery-operated Bentley GTC that, after a respray in Silverlake Blue, subsequently appeared at all the shows and events parked-up with it`s “bigger brother”. The show history of the pair is extensive with 1st Class Concours Wins at HR Owen, BDC Annual Rally, Footman James Classic Car Show, Salon Prive Club Trophy, Daks Trophy Winner Master Class, RREC International Rally and RH Insurance Trophy. With the car is a substantial file solely documenting such show exploits to include hundreds of photographs, entry forms, Certificates and newspaper cuttings.
Back to maintenance, as stated Bentley Berkshire (formerly Bentley Pangbourne) looked after the car exclusively up to 2021 (mileage now 43, 859) with the only work outsourced was a refurbishment of the 20-inch wheels in 2015, a new windscreen a couple of years later and a fresh 3-piece chrome grille in 2019. From 2022 onwards, servicing was transferred to marque specialist Silver Lady Services in Bournemouth with the car itself now residing in Dorset much of the time. Silver Lady last saw the car in late 2024 with a recorded mileage of 48, 881. Very sadly, our long-term and enthusiastic keeper fell ill and died this year and it is for this reason only that the car, his absolute pride and joy, is now available. Mileage today is just 49, 960.
The car presents just as can be seen in the photographs. It is, quite simply, breath-taking. Other than one tiny stone-chip (smaller than a pin head), both body and paintwork are totally blemish-free. All trim including the Blue hood is commensurate, whilst refurbished wheels are like new. The condition of the luxurious Magnolia leather cabin is similarly quite remarkable, the seats themselves benefitting from sheepskin over-rugs providing warmth, comfort and undeniably excellent protection from a splash of passing Bollinger. But seriously, it is faultless and like the exterior, in showroom condition. Turn the key and that glorious W12 roars into life sounding truly purposeful whilst on the road, the Bentley is utterly sublime. Everything and more you would expect from such a pedigree brand. Simply gorgeous.
Our car comes with 5 files of history including extensive service records and fully stamped-up Service Handbook, Owner`s Handbook, original supplying dealer invoice and literature, 2012 advertisement and sales invoice, a show file featuring 12 years of Concours awards, an extensive collection of rosettes, Extended Warranty Information, old MoT Certificates and a current Certificate to October 2026 albeit the Bentley will come with a fresh MoT at point of sale. In addition, as part of the “show package”, the sale includes the battery-operated miniature Bentley as seen in the photographs together with the show picnic equipment. The registration “B3 HGB” is being retained and the car will be re-registered back on its original plate “RK08 ALO”.
