VDP BODY NUMBER: 3012

YEAR OF MANUFACTURE: 1932

Until very recently it was thought that this car started life with a VDP saloon body but it has recently come to light that it was in fact fitted with it’s four seat open tourer body when new. The Works Build Sheet, kindly supplied by Red Triangle, the entry in the VDP Coachbuilders book by Brian Smith and the records of the Alvis Owners Club, all confirm this to be the case. The original VDP body number is even stamped in the timber frame of the driver’s door.

The car has been fully restored in the last 15 years and the file contains invoices to testify to this. A later SB engine was fully rebuilt and fitted during this restoration, the original engine being damaged beyond repair.

The body condition is excellent and the car drives well on the road. The leather trim and the weather equipment is in very good order and the car is ready for summer rallies of both a competitive and touring nature.
