This is the top-of-the-range, manual version of the Honda Accord Coupe from the mid-nineties. It was built in the USA to higher standards than the Swindon-built saloons of the same period, and shares little in common with them. It has sophisticated double wishbone front and rear suspension, which makes it great to drive. It's in very good condition for its age, and low mileage at 83, 065 miles. It has just passed its MOT with NO advisories, and has had a lot of work done recently to keep it right. It is in Bordeaux Red metallic with lovely grey full leather inside.
The previous owner put a new cambelt on it approximately one year/ five thousand miles ago, and since under my ownership then it has had a new full exhaust system, new front tyres with refurbished alloy wheels and full tracking alignment. It has had a full service with new plugs, filters and full synthetic engine and gearbox oil. New front and rear disc brakes and pads were fitted earlier this year, with a new rear calliper, plus new front anti-roll bar bushes. A headlamp washer pump was also fitted.
The car has a lively 150BHP 2. 2i 16 valve OHC engine, with a precise Honda box – the former is quiet and the latter smooth. The clutch works perfectly, as do the brakes, which are strong. The car drives very well indeed, and all the electrics work including windows, sunroof, heated mirrors, cruise control, etc. Interior is excellent aside from a small mark in the leatherette headlining. Original Honda stereo/ radio cassette still fitted, and a Honda alarm/ immobiliser. Exterior is good for the year – very clean with no bubbling around the wheel arches, and just a smallish patch at the bottom of the n/ s/ rear wing that needs slight attention. Overall a rare and collectable modern classic that's lots of fun to drive.
