I was first registered in November 1993, and was purchased from Hindmarch & Co, Stamford, Lincs, the main Peugeot dealership. My first owner traded the car back to Hindmarch in March 1999. My current owner bought me in the same month and he is only my second owner. He is now reluctantly selling his “baby” due to the progressive nature of Parkinsons Disease and his licence to drive expires in June of his year.
When he bought me she had covered 42, 000 miles and he has cared for me ever since. I have now reached a commendable 165, 000 miles at the ripe old age of 25!
I am a VERY RARE Peugeot 205 STDT (Special Trim Diesel Turbo), and a true Classic. I am totally original except for the very recent addition of a K&N Air Feed Induction Kit, which has helped me breathe even deeper.
I have experienced no accidents in my life-time and my midlife crisis came when my cam belt parted company at a set of uncompromising traffic lights only 400 metres from our home! A hefty repair bill sorted me out quite promptly and kitted me out with a new top end, and a zest for living!
My only other chilling experience was when I was molested by a hailstorm outside our current home and I suffered some vicious dings to my gleaming paintjob. To help me get over this trauma I was treated to a complete set of five re-furbished Alloy Wheels. I was also gifted with a new bonnet, new sills and other facial treatments. I even have a refurbished rear axle so I am mechanically sound and passed my MOT in January 2018 with NO Advisories.
Did you know that I’m very rare specimen! There were only 1, 573 of me manufactured and sold in the UK, and this one. Currently I am only 1 of the 35 which are currently licensed by the DVLC. There are also 124 that are SORN.
The STDT came in only 3 colours: Oberon Green, Aztec Gold, and Steel Grey, and was on built in 1993. She was built to sit between the standard Diesel range and the higher end GTI’s. It has the 3 door body style of the GTI, a 1769 cc Turbo enhanced Diesel engine with the trim and luxuries of the 205 GTI.
