A right hand drive Rolls Royce brought back to the UK from North America, originally supplied by HR Owen.
Make no mistake – this Rolls Royce is a restoration project, requiring extensive work, but we believe it has the making of a really nice car.
This is a 1956 Silver Cloud S1 that was originally supplied in London by HR. Owen, and had a private plate O2 on it. In 1978 the Rolls was shipped to North America where it remained until 2018 when Roman Garages rescued it. Some work on the car was undertaken over there including paintwork, recovering the seats in very expensive new grey leather, and new headlining. Work that remains to be done includes welding to the floor and sills and cosmetics. The engine, gearbox, front suspension and brakes need overhauling, but what a vehicle this will be when finished.
The engine will turn over, and the car will roll for loading and unloading. It seems to be pretty much complete, although there are no keys. It has the American title so registering it in the UK will be a formality.
The car is finished in metallic grey, and the Rolls Royce grille and flying lady mascot are both excellent. The wood dash and door cappings are in good condition, and the car has already had a lot of cash spent on its refurbishment.
This car is priced to sell, and we welcome any viewing. It is a project car so will need trailering away. We can arrange this for you, if required, at cost. Because it is a project we make no promises or give any warranty, but we do believe its a very viable proposition, with quality Silver Cloud S1 cars being sold from £70k-90k at the moment, and rising.
