LAND ROVER SERIES 2A 1966 SAME LADY OWNER 22 YEARS VERY ORIGINAL

Ok so Land Rovers are rocketing in value and early ones are getting out of reach, which means there are plenty of polished turds out there, all shiny and full of hidden sins. Well here’s a refreshing change, very original, very untouched, fully working, with current MOT Series 2A in its working clothes, direct from the longterm lady owner, exactly how you want to find them, it’s a real gem.

First registered to the Royal Vetinary College, Hatfield and complete with all the log books issued over the years showing the 7 owners. Starts runs and drives very well, the petrol engine is so quite you think its stalled at tick over, all the gears select easily (in a Land Rover Series fashion), has amazingly good brakes and handbrake, no need to wag away with the steering wheel to keep it in a straight line, pulls well, stops well, not at all like an early Landie.
It is tax and MOT exempt but has still been presented for its MOT and the current one runs until 16th June 2019. The former lady owner used this car sparingly for 22 years and kept it religiously serviced and maintained, it drives absolutely spot on. There’s a good history file with MOT’s, service invoices and tax discs going back to the early 80’s. Still very original with standard steel rims, deep cill panels, bonnet mounted spare wheel, lights in the centre grill (not the wings), cat flap rear door and 3 standard front seats.
Now the paintwork is poor, been painted over, patched added too and rubbed off over the years, the general finish is what you’d expect to achieve using a dead hedgehog on a stick as a brush, but there’s nothing hidden. Its still on its original and very solid chassis, bulkhead had the usual repairs and all intact, no play on door hinges. All the underside is there to be seen in a mix of surface rust and crap, not hidden under 12 gallons of underseal. Has a couple of oddities, a sunroof which also doubles as a shower and a very unusual Smiths type heater in the passenger foot well.
Very original, very untouched and in good working order Series 2A, its one to keep, use and improve or a brilliant base for a full restoration, another like it will not come along next week.
