MGB GT V8 – Restored Factory V8 & Sebring Kit
MG introduced the MGB GT V8 in 1973. The cars were well received at the time but poor build quality and the fuel crisis meant just 2, 591 were constructed when production ceased in 1976. Our original factory V8 (VIN: G-D2D1) left Abingdon on 14th July 1975 and consigned to LEX Motor Company, Stockport
In 2010 David Bradshaw (DICE Racing) purchased our car from the fourth owner with the intention of building an FIA approved fast road/ track car. Over the next four months the MG was place in a roller and every component was removed from the MG and checked, refurbished or replaced – hundreds of man hours were put into this project and the final result is an absolute testament to the commitment and skill of the team (David has asked us to pass contact details on to new owner)
Work Included:
· Sebring Front/ Rear Wings, custom Front Spoiler
· Engine & Gearbox rebuilt including Fast Road Cam
· Rear axle checked. Uprated suspension - Koni adjustable
· Wheels/ Brakes – EBC pads with offset Minilite wheels
· Professional resprayed in original Flamenco Red (body colour underside)
· Re-trimmed interior, harnesses and timing clocks
Shortly after completion the car was sold to France and the new owner used the car very sparingly covering under 4, 000 road miles in six years. A video of the V8 was posted on YouTube while in France - this gives a flavour of the condition of the car and the driving experience awaiting the new owner
See: - details above
In 2017 the V8 returned to the UK, was re-registered with the DVLA and has only had limited use on Cornish roads over the last 12 months.
Milestones take huge pride in marketing the best we can find and this is an exceptional opportunity to purchase a fast road/ track MGBGT V8 at a fraction of the build cost.
