1977 Datsun 280Z 2-seater Coupe 5-Speed manual gearbox. Metallic Golden Sand with cream seats, black dash and carpets and cold factory A/ C. Recntly sourced for us by our partners in Florida and has to be the most complete and original of any Datsun Z car we have seen.
After enduring the Florida sun the original paint had faded but is now back from our paint shop after undergoing a bare metal, glass out repaint in its factory colour of Golden Sand. However, the sheet metal is all original and the underside has never had to be welded or repaired in any way. It was bone dry and rust free. The US Federal bumpers have been removed prior to painting and new chrome UK bumpers fitted at a cost of £1300. We have also had all of its body seals replaced before being rebuilt.
This Z looks stunning and without doubt one of the best in the UK.
The seats, carpeting and all of the interior are original and in an amazing state of preservation. New parts replaced recently by the last owner included: Fuel Injector harness, Radiator, Water pump, Thermostat, Alternator, Brake master cylinder, Brake booster, Front brake discs and pads, Fuel filter, Head gasket, Spark plugs and leads, Clutch master cylinder, Battery, 4 New Michelin tyres, 4 New chrome rims, New original style seat covers and new seat foam, exhaust, 4 new KYB shocks, all new suspension bushings, new brighter headlights, wood gear knob, gear lever bushings and high quality tinted windows. The only addition to how it left the factory are the chrome alloy wheels, the sports exhaust and removable rear window louvre. All gauges and equipment are working correctly with the exception of the original radio and clock. Showing 95000 recorded miles which we understand to be correct.
It still has its full factory tool kit, space-saver spare wheel and inflator kit, original hand book and unused First-Aid kit-all of which was supplied with the car when new. Just incredible!! I doubt you will ever see another 280Z with this level of originality and with all it came with on the day it left the dealership.
The 280Z fuel-injected engine performs silky smooth and the super easy 5-speed manual gearbox along with the bark from the exhaust makes this the best driving Z car we have ever had. It completed a 1500 mile journey around Scotland with us in the summer without missing a beat and making it the perfect classic for the sweeping bends and single-track roads the Highlands have to offer.
Has just been fully serviced and UK registered with an age-related plate. Now MOT exempt and tax is of course free.
