Description
1910 Renault 5 litre Rois Des Belges Tourer.
Chassis Number: 24213
Registration: DS7917
A magnificent early Renault V. C. C. dated to 1910. The car was owned & restored during a 32year ownership by a now deceased gentleman lately living in Hertfordshire.
The Renault has been the subject of continual maintenance throughout the previous owners tenure, during which time the rear pair of artillery wheels have been refurbished, and new bearings installed in the gearbox and rear axle. A replacement radiator was fitted in 2004, while in 2006 the 4. 4-litre engine was treated to a major overhaul during which new valves, cast alloy pistons and crankshaft and big end bearings were installed, the crankshaft journals cleaned up, and the unit rebored. In deference to safety and modern-day usage, the Renault now features an electric starter motor and electric lights.
This is a surprisingly fast Edwardian with a silent powerful engine in impeccable condition. The blue paintwork is close to concours as it the black leather interior. It is a car that wants for nothing & is an absolute pleasure to drive. It shrugs off multi hundred mile days with aplomb.
This is a car That you really need to see & drive to appreciate how good it is & how well it performs. The powerful engine makes hills no impediment. The engine runs cool & is almost uncanny in the silence of its operation.
