Had I had a space in my own personal garage, this one would be there now. I love the colour and love the performance.
It has all the right spec: running over 490 hp with Manthey tuning and a Europipe Stage 1 exhaust. It has the adjustable KW suspension with axle lift.
The last keeper loved his 996 turbo for 14 years, happily and wisely spending on maintenance throughout. It has the most impressive history and invoice folder. This Porsche was used perfectly, making regular weekend dashes to Italy and back, enjoying many long distance adventures in Europe, and that is the key to the condition. This is one seriously loved Turbo. It is a prime example of usage and maintenance having a greater influence than 96, 000 miles covered. A good example of this is the original clutch was replaced only recently at 94, 000 miles, way beyond the average of 30, 000.
Much of the maintenance has been carried out by London Porsche Specialists JZM including a transmission rebuild, KW V3 suspension with HLS2 front lift system, a Europipe Stage 1 exhaust system (adding hp and making a superb sound), plus the Manthey tuning to give something likely to be in excess of 490 bhp.
10 stamps in the service book, the most recent being a major including spark plugs plus a service invoice file adding up to around £45, 000 invested. Not the norm at all.
Priced we think a little low, it is going to be needing new discs and pads soon but we chose not to fit in order that the new owner has some choices.
First registered on 01. 05. 2001, the car was registered firstly to Porsche Cars of Great Britain Ltd. Further owners followed in 2002 and 2003 with the most recent keeper taking possession in February 2005.

996 Turbo: Adrian's view........
Every time I drive a great 996 Turbo like this, it reminds me how thoroughly impressive these supercars are. Costing the best part of £100, 000 when new, these cars were built to a quality, not to a budget. Not only is the performance and handling sensational, but it can be used on all road conditions with a high degree of security. It is the car that in your imagination you could be running at 190 mph one moment, the next tootling along in the traffic without missing a beat. Driven gently, no one would realise just what a rocketship it is.
At this moment, 930 Turbo, 964 Turbo and 993 Turbo are making more than their cost new, by a long way. Whilst the 996 Turbo is available at less than 50% of new cost. As each year passes, fewer and fewer of these will be good examples, and therefore I predict that in time this model will rise in value significantly. It has many virtues and few vices: it is the first of the new generation water cooled Porsche Turbo, it has surplus performance, is intrinsically very strong with a race derived motor at its heart. It is a pleasure to travel in on any occasion and it has darn good looks too.
To me it all makes sense. Up early on a Sunday morning, or head off to the Alps.
These are Porsche to keep, to drive, to make memories with.
