Description
Not an easy decision this, however, I am selling my six cylinder converted Porsche 914SC.
I have absolutely loved owning this over the last few years and still enjoy it every single time the ignition key gets turned.
Originally a California car, now 3. 0ltr 911 SC engine converted, front mounted oil cooler, bespoke stainless exhaust system, converted to carbs and carefully set up on the rolling road with custom jet drilling at SRD. Sounds superb (videos available for aural pleasure!), pulls very well and is plenty quick enough to be great fun on b-roads or circuits while very capable of sitting happily on long motorway runs. 5 speed dogleg box. Complete original mechanical injection system will be included with the sale.
Subtly lowered and fitted with uprated brakes and suspension.
Car is very solid throughout structurally, majority of body is still the original paint with associated 50 years of wear and tear. Looks good from 20feet way, paint worn/ tatty in areas and when viewed up close. Exterior features pressed steel registration plates and 3d printed 3. 0 SC badges. I like it as is and gets lots of really positive comments when at car and coffee meets/ shows but equally would be a straight forward respray for anyone wanting something looking restored/ repainted/ pristine.
Interior has good quality original seats and re trimmed dashboard. Wooden gear knob looks great and is lovely to use. New inertia reel seatbelts recently fitted. 3d printed SC dash badge, Laguna Seca trim feature (from California), after market steering wheel fitted, Mota Lita wheel also included which is in need of a retrim. As per the exterior it is perfectly serviceable as is or provides the perfect canvas for a new owner to change and make it their own. Comes complete with brand new but unfitted 12v heater blower.
Hardtop is in good condition and stores in the boot making it really practical for those typical UK days that start out sunny and end up pouring down!
Lots of history including invoices from well respected specialists such as Rally Prep and Williams Crawford.
Will also include 914/ 6 GT flared arches which I bought but decided not to fit as I preferred the original flat body sides and subtlety of OE appearance with 3ltr motor before I got as far as fitting.
She’s a lovely thing to drive, makes a fantastic noise - both induction and exhaust (see video!) - and with the telephone numbers that genuine 914/ 6 are now making represents great value for money.
Cheapest 6 converted 914 on the market throughout UK and Europe as keen to try and get a deal done and leaving budget available for new owner to respray/ re-trim should they so desire.
Simply a feel good car every time you step into it, gets a terrific reaction wherever it goes from cars and coffee events to a quick trip to the shops. You’ll be talked to at every fuel pump stop and smiled/ waved to at junctions, roundabouts and when driving down the road.
Serious offers on £35k considered - otherwise I’ll be keeping it for more sunset coastal smiles in 2026.
