First Launched in 2006, the Cayman was derived from the same platform as the second generation Boxster. Both cars share the same Mid-Engine layout however the Cayman received further suspension development due to the stiffer coupe/ fixed roof chassis design. The end result was a finely balanced driver’s car, the Cayman received strong praise from enthusiasts and car journalists alike, making it an extremely popular choice for any Sports Car owner.
This particular example is the more desirable “S” variant. The S came with a larger capacity flat 6 engine, 3. 4 litres instead of 2. 7, which boasts 295bhp and 251lbft of torque. This was also paired up with a manual 6 speed gearbox, which made it easier to stay in the engine’s power band and provided a much sportier feel to the standard car. This car also features and benefits from PASM (Porsche Active Suspension Management) and the “Sports Chrono” pack. Toggling these switches instantly changes the vehicles suspension characteristics and sharpens the throttle response, allowing the driver to opt for a more spirited driving experience whenever they please!
