FOR SALE: A facelift V8 in fantastic condition, Epsom Green with cream upholstery, just 39k miles.
EQUIPMENT
Automatic transmission, Seven seats, Digital climate control air conditioning, 16-inch alloy wheels, Integrated “Chevron” side runners, Front and rear mud flaps, Front and rear electric sunroofs, Electrically adjustable and folding door mirrors, Electric windows, Land Rover cassette radio, Roof rails, Body side mouldings with bright insert, Front fog lights, Electronic Traction Control (ETC), Hill Decent Control (HDC), Self-Leveling Suspension (SLS), Full size spare wheel with moulded cover, Discovery carpet mats.
EXTERIOR
This superb example presents really well in glossy Epsom Green metallic, a solid choice for a Land Rover of this vintage. The body remains in amazing rust-free condition and the underside is still notably clean upon inspection. As a facelift Discovery II the car boasts cleaner front and rear light clusters, all of which are nice and clear. You’ll also find handy side runners and a moulded cover for the spare wheel.
INTERIOR
The airy cabin is equipped with two electric glass sunroofs and seven full size seats, with the second and third rows folding away completely for a huge rear load capacity. The seats are upholstered in handsome cream leather with alcantara centres. Given the car’s low mileage there are few signs of wear to report, the upholstery still extremely fresh and without any marking. Pale leather extends to the steering wheel and burr walnut finishes the dash. The carpets are protected in the footwells by a set of hardwearing Land Rover overmats.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The 4-litre V8 idles up to temperature without fuss. With sufficient acceleration and plenty of torque on tap the Discovery delivers a refined driving experience, both on- and off-road. The engine bay is remarkably clean, the car having been well maintained from new despite its low mileage of just 39k. Power is transferred to all four wheels via the smooth four-speed automatic gearbox.
WHEELS, TYRES AND BRAKES
The 16-inch alloy wheels present very well almost no curb marking to report. They are finished in their original coat of silver and are shod in a matching set of Bridgestone tyres, all with plenty of tread remaining. Out on the road the brakes do a fine job of pulling the car to a halt quickly and in a straight line; the front pads have just been replaced.
HISTORY FILE
The Discovery was first registered in December 2003. The accompanying paperwork shows the car to have been well maintained from new, with services out at the following mileages: 1k, 6k, 9k, 14k, 21k, 23k, 29k, 31k, and 35k miles. Recent work includes the replacement of both front anti roll bar link rods, upper ball joint swivel gaiters, and front brake pads. The paperwork includes the original document pack with all associated manuals present. The MOT is valid until November 2019.
