Fully restored 1935 Standard Nine, two door coupe.
This charming Standard Nine, features suicide doors, sliding roof panel, adjustable front windscreen with Triplex glass, and cord operated rear window blind. The car posesses delightful semaphores/ traficators, expressing the true authentic essence of this car.
Having been devotedly restored over a period of approximately 4 years, the Standard Nine was taken to it’s bare shell and chassis. The time and devotion invested in the car, is clearly visible, resulting in it’s impeccable condition. The majority of the original invoices for work, and parts, are included, giving an insight into the true cost of the restoration. These costs alone, not including any labour costs, far out way the current asking price. The main work that has been carried out, includes:
A full strip and re-paint of shell and chassis. Entire Red oxide primer to body and chassis. Finished in an original colour scheme.
New sills and running boards etc.
All seals and weather-strips replaced where necessary.
Replaced suspension.
Steering and brakes as needed.
The sliding roof proved to be a big challenge of the restoration, but once done, it worked as new, recognized by proving a ‘little stiff’!
The complete interior has been finished to a pleasing standard, including new headlining, carpets, and vinyl, which is complemented by the matching leather on the panels and seating.
The electrics have been renewed/ rebuilt with a new wiring loom, having the original 6 volt system.
Full engine rebuild at great expense by a Classic car specialist.

The original wire wheels have been powder coated, including the spare. The wheels were then treated to new period tyres.
The radiator shell has been re-chromed. The Standard restoration was done a few years ago, and has covered limited mileage since.
With some charming original features, the car is of show quality. The front seats move forward on a unique bracket for ease of access, with one of the seats hiding it’s own secret drawer! All original, the rear number plate bracket folds down for luggage storage.
The overall condition of this splendid Standard Nine, is exceptional, and is an impressive contender for shows and vintage motoring. I’m certain, that first to see will buy! One word to sum up this car..… ‘CHARMING’!
