Yamaha AS1 Race Bike Needs Finishing
This bike was part of a collection of race bikes I bought about 20 odd years ago, the engine is a genuine AS1 race engine I robbed the Femsa coils off it for a TA engine but the stator and mounting housings are still on the engine. It has been modified to run 28mm carbs but it will need some spacers making for between carbs and inlets. It should have a close ratio gearbox, the crank is very usable and the barrels are not scored and have no piston pickup on the bores single ring pistons are fitted, may need new rings. The frame has all the dedicated mountings for the faring, ignition coils, seat mountings (seat has not been drilled at these points so you can set the set position for your preferred ridding position). The fuel tank is a genuine Yamaha alloy TA tank although it is damaged it can be repaired and now quite rare. There are two wheels with steel rims as I robbed the original ones I got with the bike for use on another. The rear is missing the drive sprocket mounting. Full two piece faring comes with the bike, there are mounting rubbers for the tank and a brand new tank filler cap. Please study the photos as what you see is what you get it does need a full re build but would make a lovely rare bike when finished and would get you into some classic race parades in circuits both at home and abroad.
