Description
This is a 1985 NATO ambulance. Mothballed in the Netherlands until 2013, when its was imported to UK. Re-registered and brought up to Euro 3 regs. 2500cc. 24volt (2x 12v batteries were replaced last year). Left Hand Drive. MOT until next March.(including LEZ) The vehicle has only done 26, 500 miles. There is a 1 ton Sankey trailer included which has a NATO hitch. (and a spare wheel)
Have to sell due to the 2020 ULEZ.
3 Rear passenger seats in all. One facing backwards. There are seat belts for the bench seat as well.
We modified the vehicle with access between cab and rear, and added the double passenger seat.
All original features still intact, apart from the two side indicator which were converted to LED.
(We still have the original fitting.)
The van is insulated and with its black-out blinds provides a very quiet, warm and comfortable nights sleep.
There is an extraction fan in the ceiling which also has duel settings for intake or extraction.
There are options for all the internal lighting. Double strip lights in the ceiling, Single Ring lamp around the extraction fan. . There is even a small blue night light.
There is a Webasto heating unit fitted. We have never tried very hard to get it going but the switching unit is unresponsive.
The condition of the van is amazing for its age. The undercarriage was sprayed with wax so is perfect. However here is the list of faults.
There are three areas of rust, one coin size at the bottom of the side door, one coin size at the base of the passenger window, and a 6 inch gash on the offside wheel arch. The two rear bumpers have a crack but are sound. Internally the hinge to one of the dropdown doors to the cupboard is bent, there is also a 3x2 sized hole in one of the panels. The drivers seat has a small 2 inch split in the leather, there is a small puncture in the internal bench seat.
Part of a fleet around 70. A few were sold here and the rest were bought by the Turkish Government. So this is very rare. All fixtures are super robust and beautifully engineered and it doesn't know what a computer is.
