Description
1987 Honda AX-1 250 (JDM spec NX250)
UPDATE: MOT'd until August 2020 and price reduced by £200!
For sale only as I've bought a fat BMW K1100RS to cover big motorway miles, this rare and interesting 80’s Honda, always gets questions wherever I stop. It’s a Japanese import so speedo in kms, it’s a liquid cooled 4-valve 250 4 stroke single, it’s quite fast, certainly faster than the RFVC 250’s you’d find in XR250’s and CB250rs’ etc. It’s basically a higher spec NX250, with stainless exhaust, twin headlights, cast wheels, rear disc brake and supposedly different cams. I bought it from DK’s last year, have been through it mechanically, MOT’d and registered it etc.

Brand new oil filter
Brand new Athena clutch cover gasket
Old rear shock and front springs included
Highlights:
Very low miles.
Original toolkit.
Very rare and original.
High performance, faster than a CRF250 and twice as well made!
Enormous service intervals.
Tank squeaky clean inside.
New suspension transforms the ride.
Problems:
Various age related marks, crack in side panel.
Only one key but it’s genuine.
I would paint the frame and engine side casings if I was keeping it.
Clutch lever slightly bent, springs a little short due to being stood for so long, a little clutch rattle, until one pulls the clutch in, new clutch kit included to sort.
MOT until 19th August 2020.
The asking price reflects the £500 spent on parts in the last few months. Any questions please just ask, I have the name of a very decent courier who collects all my bikes.
