Description
A very original 1978 Range Rover Suffix F. One of the 356 RHD cars exported from the Solihull factory to Australia. It spent 6 years in Melbourne before being imported to Christ Church, New Zealand. I imported the car in spring 2019 and began a running restoration including:
Engine
New battery, distributor, coil, leads and plugs. Plus a full service and carb/ distributor tune up. Rebuilt carburettors and a new fuel pump.
Gearbox
High and low range both select well. The diff lock works and all the gears engage nicely.
Body
Fresh paint and tidy up of the exterior.
Brand new rear tail gate in aluminium.
There are a few dents in the body but it is very sound
Chassis
New sills, springs, dampers (including steering damper)
Brakes
The brakes are new and it stops well.
Interior
The interior was retrimmed in New Zealand in grey velour.
The car runs perfectly and the chassis is in remarkable condition.
All in all a good example which has been kept in dry climates away from salted roads. The mileage reads 85000km which could well be accurate from looking at the chassis.
